lehigh valley health network – palmer

Lehigh Valley Health Network is being recognized tonight for their new location at 3701 Corriere Road. This new structure is a two-story, 57,000-square-foot Health Center, providing access to the care you need within a convenient site. The Health Center at Palmer Township has a special concentration on children, with a strong presence from Lehigh Valley Children’s Hospital, the only children’s hospital in the region. They offer Children’s ExpressCARE, a walk-in care area built just for kids – complete with a separate entrance and a soothing child-friendly design.

Their second location in Palmer Township, located at 2401 Northampton St, is a two-story, 40,000-square-foot Health Center, built on the site where Schaible’s Bakery was located for almost a century. There is a Heritage Wall inside the health center that honors that wonderful history.

Both locations were designed to become part of the fabric of the neighborhood. When you need care, LVHN is right around the corner offering an array of services, starting with family medicine services providing care for patients from infant to senior when they’re sick, but also provide programs and information to keep them healthy.

The health center provides:
• ExpressCARE – no appointment is needed.
• Obstetrics and gynecology service provides complete women’s care from adolescence to maturity.
• Patients can stop in at their convenience for X-rays or ultrasounds.
• Adult rehabilitation services.
• Lab tests are conveniently done through Health Network Laboratories.

BIP welcomes Lehigh Valley Health Network to Palmer Township. Accepting this award is Maria Kammetler, Administrator of Public Affairs.

the pub at seipsville

Seipsville Inn is being recognized for the refurbishment of an existing building within Palmer Township – and I might add not just any building, but one rich with history. In 1760, Peter Seip purchased land along Old Nazareth Road, which became known as Seipsville. The Seipsville Inn was build and was a popular stagecoach stop between Easton and Nazareth, offering a place to sleep and eat for travelers.

I found it very interesting that Seipsville was part of Forks Township, but in 1757, the plans for creating a new township were finalized in a meeting room located on the second floor in this building. The new township was named after the Surveyor General of Pennsylvania, George Palmer and was named Palmer Township.

After serving as township board of supervisors meeting place, a stagecoach stop, a polling place, post office, and many others in between, in 1977, the Inn was purchased by Elpedio Pettinelli. The building was restored to its original design and was placed on the National Registry of Historic Places.

Currently, the 4 Pettinelli brothers, Lou, Peter, Dino, and Dero, have worked to bring back the Seipsville Inn. Offering separate dining areas that can seat from 16 guests in the front room near the enclosed porch, the Springhouse Room that can seat 25 – 30 guests and the main dining room which seats up to 130 guests.

In September, The Pub opened and a Grand Opening is planned for the beginning of 2018.

A building rich in value and history is an asset in Palmer Township and we wish the Pettinelli Family continued success.

Michele a. vitale

Our next Civic Trust Award is presented to Michele Vitale with State Farm Insurance. Michele grew up in Easton, attended Easton Area High School and Northampton Community College. She graduated with a Business Management degree from Bloomsburg University.

Michele began her career with State Farm Insurance in 1984, with her first office located in a one-room office on Nazareth Road. She relocated to Northwood Avenue and then in 1993, purchased the property at 2586 Nazareth Road, for which she is being recognized this evening.

Located in a residential neighborhood, Michele took great care to enhance her property and make the aesthetic changes to fit into her surroundings. She achieved that goal with a total re-facing of the building with new siding and stacked stone. The front and side landscaping were redone as well, and I might add that was done by another BIP member Andy Carr, owner of SnowScapes.

Michele’s staff consists of 3 full time and 2 part-time employees. She is proud of the quality customer service provided and the dependable knowledge of her staff to educate their clients with over 75 years of combined experience.

Michele is a past president and current board member of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors of the Lehigh Valley and she is very active within our community.

BIP congratulates Michele on her success and is proud that she has made Palmer Township home for her business.
